The Alternates had their second annual blood drive today. Unfortunately due to the weather, there was very little turnout. However the Server and Zetaman did attend.

Other Masked Adventures took part as well. Dark Guardian lead a group in New York. Firebird, Geist and Dreamer also participated in their locations.

Local musicians and costume activist work together as a team in a Christmas mission for foster children.

Kirkland, Washington (PRWEB) December 13, 2008 — Vinyl Fluid Records music store and Zetaman, Superhero of Portland, have organized a charity concert. Operation: Treehouse is a benefit to bring toys to the Treehouse4Kids at Waldo’s Bar and Grill, located in Kirkland.

Live music will be performed by Little Big Man, Project Lionheart, and other local artists.

Vinyl Fluid Records have procured sponsorship from local business like Valve (a gaming store) and Body Boutique as well as corporate support from restaurants like Claim Jumper and Outback Steak House in the form of gift certificates and other prizes which will be used in a raffle to help raise additional funds. The proceeds from Operation: Treehouse will be used to buy much needed toys which will then be given to the Treehouse to be distributed to foster kids.

DJ’s spinning music for sports equipment

Vinyl Fluid Records, along with the Alternates, are producing a concert to benefit the Boys and Girls Club of Kirkland, Washington. Five of the Northwest hottest DJ’s will be playing 5 hours of music for a admission price of 5 dollars.

Kirkland, Washington, March 14th 2009 – Vinyl Fluid Records, an online music store, is hosting a concert to benefit the Boys and Girls Club. With the help of a local community advocate group, the Alternates, they will be raising money as well as sporting goods equipment for the youth in Kirkland, Washington.

Five of the hottest northwest DJ’s will be spinning five hours of music at the Liquid Lime. Admission price is $5.00. Proceeds will be given to help fund programs and equipment for the Boys and Girls Club of Kirkland, Washington. The concert will be also featuring an auction for prizes graciously donated by local businesses. And boxes will be step up to receive donations in the form of sporting goods equipment as well as monentary donations.

Local Superhero Zetaman works to raise money for Premature Babies.
Portland, Oregon, April 17th – Local Superhero will be appearing at Cosmic Monkey Comics to raise money for the March for Babies Walk-A-Thon.

Cosmic Monkey Comics will be hosting a fundraiser Friday, April 17th to assist Zetaman, Portland’s Local Superhero. Zetaman, who has been featured on CNN, KATU and Willamette Weekly, has registered as a team with the March of Dimes’ March for Babies Walk-a-thon. March for Babies Walk-A-Thon will be taking place Saturday, April 25th at the Rose Quarter Commons. He will also be selling a self published comic in his efforts to raise money for the March for Babies.

$275 – One day of research on the causes of preterm birth

$500 – Education for 100 families about fetal alcohol syndrome and the benefits of folic acid

So again, thank you to all who have donated. We will be sending something out soon to you all. This was the first event the Alternates have ever rasied it’s donation goal and it is because of the folks listed above. This walk will be featured in a future episode of Zetaman: Real Life Superhero.

The Alternates just had our first planning meeting. Individuals interested in attending Superheroes Anonymous 4: Project Portland needs to RSVP as soon as possible. To make a reservation, send an email to signup@saportland.info. We need reservations so that we can budget for the Awards Dinner (September 19) as well as different workshops and hotel group rates.

Superheroes Anonymous is focused on Susan G. Komen’s Race for the Cure. Registration for this is $30. Please join the SA team at http://race.komenoregon.org/goto/superheroesanonymous. This is a excellent opportunity to raise funds as a community to cancer research. If you are joining in, please do your best to fundraise on your own. Shoot videos, flood forums and blogs, anything anyone can do to raise money on their own would be fantastic. The awards ceremony will be held at the Northwest Children’s Theater and School in the board room. This will be a catered dinner however alcohol will not be present.

Superheroes Anonymous has been registered to work the Perishables Repack Room at the Oregon Food Bank. We will be there from 9 am to 11 am
Duties: Volunteers help repackage quality food donations from local grocery stores
or bulk frozen product.

Qualifications: Age 16 and up. Under 18years old, must provide youth release form. Must be comfortable bending and standing on concrete in a
temperature-controlled (50 degree) room.

Be sure to bring light fitting clothing. If people are taking pictures, be kind to those who wear a mask and make a effort secure their identity. Mask wearers- please do not wear frightening mask.

The SA4 team will be participating in Blood Donating after helping out at the Oregon Food Bank.

Please reserve an appointment for after 12 pm on Saturday September 18, 2010 at 503-284-1234. This is vital in order to donate blood. Please be prepared to release your real name. This is completely for health reasons.
